M K Stalin Son-in-Law Issues Legal Notices to Two Tamil Nadu Ministers

V Sabareesan, the son-in-law of DMK president M K Stalin, has issued legal notices to two Tamil Nadu ministers, Aadhav Arjuna and CTR Nirmal Kumar, in Chennai. The notices demand an unconditional apology and the immediate retraction of corruption allegations made against him.

According to the legal notice issued through his counsel, A S Aswin Prasanna, the two ministers have been given a strict 15-day deadline to unconditionally retract and withdraw all the false and defamatory statements made against Sabareesan. The notice warns that if the ministers fail to comply with these demands within the stipulated period, Sabareesan will be constrained to initiate appropriate civil and criminal proceedings against them.

The dispute arises from statements made by the ministers during a press meet held on June 25. During the media briefing, the ministers alleged that Sabareesan was involved in corruption across 16 government departments during the tenure of the previous DMK government.

Sabareesan's counsel stated that these allegations are completely baseless, fabricated, malicious, and defamatory. The notice asserts that the claims were made solely because Sabareesan is the son-in-law of the DMK president, with the deliberate intention to defame and bring disrepute to M K Stalin.

In addition to the retraction, the legal notice demands that both the state PWD and electricity ministers tender an unconditional written undertaking. This undertaking must state that they will refrain from making any similar defamatory, derogatory, or malicious statements against Sabareesan in the future.

The notice further highlights the widespread impact of the allegations, noting that their publication through television and social media has caused immense damage to Sabareesan's reputation, dignity, and social standing. It states that he has suffered and continues to suffer irreparable harm to his image, character, and honour due to the ministers' deliberate, reckless, and malicious conduct.
