Keelkattalai Lake Restored and Eco Park Inaugurated in Chennai

The Exnora International Foundation and KONE Elevator India have completed the restoration of Keelkattalai Lake and developed an eco park at the waterbody, turning it into a greener, biodiverse space for the local community. The completed project was inaugurated by KONE Elevator India Managing Director Amit Gossain, alongside Pallavaram MLA J. Kamatchi and representatives from Exnora.

The restoration initiative involved extensive physical work to revitalize the waterbody, including de-weeding, dredging, and the strengthening of bunds. Safety infrastructure, pathways, and lighting were also installed around the lake to improve accessibility and safety for residents.

To boost the lake's ecological value, project organizers established vetiver plantations, created bird islands, and carried out an extensive tree plantation drive. The accompanying eco park includes dedicated spaces specifically designed for children and senior citizens.

Employees from KONE Chennai also participated in the initiative by volunteering to plant trees directly at the site.
