Kauvery Group Opens 120-Bed Women and Child Hospital in Chennai

A dedicated 120-bed healthcare facility for women and children, Maa Kauvery Hospital, was inaugurated in Chennai by Dr. K.G. Arunraj, Tamil Nadu Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by leadership from the Kauvery Group of Hospitals, including Dr. S. Chandrakumar, Founder and Executive Chairman; Dr. Manivannan Selvaraj, Founder and Managing Director; Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder and Executive Director; and Dr. D. Sengutuvvan, Co-Founder and Executive Director.

Tamil Nadu Minister for Human Resources Management D. Sarathkumar and Pallavaram MLA J. Kamatchi were also present at the launch of the new hospital.

Maa Kauvery Hospital has been designed to provide comprehensive medical services under one roof, covering maternity care, obstetrics and gynaecology, fertility, neonatology, paediatrics, and paediatric critical care.

The facility will offer round-the-clock maternity services for both normal and high-risk pregnancies, supported by specialised medical teams handling antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care. In addition, the hospital provides advanced laparoscopic gynaecology procedures, fetal medicine, and fertility treatments including intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilisation (IVF).

For newborn and child healthcare, the hospital is outfitted with a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to provide critical care for premature and severely ill infants. The neonatal wing includes 24/7 coverage by specialist doctors and advanced life-support systems. Paediatric services at the centre also cover sub-specialities such as pulmonology, nephrology, intensive care, and haematology.
