K Annamalai slams TVK cadres for filming reels inside Uthiramerur school classroom

On Saturday, former IPS officer and founder of 'We The Leaders' K. Annamalai strongly denounced Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) functionaries after they entered a government school classroom near Uthiramerur in Kancheepuram district. The condemnation followed the emergence of a video showing party cadres filming social media reels and hanging a photograph of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay inside the school.

The controversy began when a video surfaced online showing more than 20 cadres of the ruling party entering the public school's premises. According to reports, the political workers entered an active classroom to hang a photograph of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on the wall and recorded video reels for social media platforms.

Annamalai, who also served as the former BJP state president, criticized the TVK functionaries for disrupting the educational decorum of the institution. He pointed out that after five years of governance, a significant number of government schools across the state continue to grapple with severe infrastructural deficits, with many lacking proper building structures.

He added that School Education Minister Rajmohan currently faces an uphill task of restoring the lost standards and prestige of these public institutions. Annamalai stated that the disruptive actions of the TVK cadres are being viewed as highly detrimental to an already fragile public schooling system.

In his statement, Annamalai condemned the act and what he described as the high-handedness of the party workers. He stated that being part of the ruling party does not grant anyone the license to enter active classrooms and disturb students.

Expressing hope that the Chief Minister himself would not accept such indiscipline from his own ranks, Annamalai appealed to both Chief Minister Vijay and School Education Minister Rajmohan. He urged them to strictly instruct party cadres to refrain from repeating such incidents in schools.
