K Annamalai Slams TVK Cadres for Filming Reels inside Kancheepuram School

On Saturday, former IPS officer and founder of 'We The Leaders' K Annamalai condemned Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) functionaries for entering a government school classroom near Uthiramerur in Kancheepuram district, near Chennai.

The political controversy erupted after a video surfaced showing the party cadres filming social media reels and hanging a photograph of their party chief on a classroom wall.

The incident involved more than 20 cadres of the ruling party who allegedly entered the school premises without authorization. Once inside, the group proceeded to hang a photograph of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on the wall of an active classroom while recording videos for social media.

Annamalai, who is also the former BJP state president, took sharp aim at the TVK functionaries for disrupting educational decorum. He strongly condemned the high-handedness of the act, stating that being part of the ruling party does not grant anyone the license to enter active classrooms and disturb students.

Addressing the broader state of education, Annamalai pointed out that after five years of governance, a significant number of government schools across the state continue to grapple with severe infrastructural deficits. He noted that many of these institutions still lack proper building structures.

According to Annamalai, School Education Minister Rajmohan already faces an uphill task of restoring the lost standards and prestige of these public institutions. He argued that the actions of the TVK cadres are being viewed as further detrimental to an already fragile public schooling system.

Expressing hope that the Chief Minister himself would not accept such indiscipline from his ranks, Annamalai appealed to both the Chief Minister and the School Education Minister. He urged them to strictly instruct party cadres to refrain from repeating such disruptive incidents in the future.
