Justice V Mohana Inaugurates MBA Lecture Series at Madras High Court

Supreme Court Judge Justice V Mohana inaugurated a new lecture series organized by the Madras Bar Association (MBA) on Monday at the MBA office premises within the Madras High Court. The lecture series has been established in memory of four legal doyens: M K Nambyar, V P Raman, R Krishnamoorthy, and M Subramaniam.

The event, which brought together prominent members of the legal fraternity, was held in the presence of the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari. The lecture series aims to foster developmental activities that will benefit and guide the younger generation of lawyers currently practicing at the Bar.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Mohana praised the legacy of the local legal community, stating that the Madras Bar has produced many outstanding figures for both the Bar and the Bench. She expressed her gratitude and admiration for the opportunity to inaugurate the endowment lectures.

"It is unimaginable that I am standing before you and inaugurating endowment lectures for four doyens of this MBA," Justice Mohana said during her address.

Justice Mohana also shared her personal and professional connections to the state of Tamil Nadu. She mentioned that both Tamil Nadu and Coimbatore had been extremely kind to her during her formative years and in the years that followed.

"From the beginning till recently, the maximum number of works I have done is from Tamil Nadu. I am very proud to say that," she added, highlighting her long-standing relationship with the region's legal landscape.

The inaugural program commenced with a welcome address delivered by MBA President V R Kamalanathan. Following the speeches, the association’s secretary, J Pothiraj, delivered the vote of thanks to conclude the formal proceedings of the event.
