JIPMER Puducherry Warns Candidates Against Admission Touts

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry has issued an official caution to candidates and their families, warning them not to be cheated by touts who promise fraudulent admissions to the central institute. The warning was released to protect unsuspecting applicants from falling victim to admission scams.

In an official statement, the institute clarified that admissions to all of its academic programmes are conducted through a highly transparent and strictly merit-based process. The institution emphasized that there is no alternative route for securing a seat in any of its offered courses.

Admissions to major undergraduate, postgraduate, and super speciality courses at the Puducherry-based institute are made exclusively through centralised entrance examinations. These examinations, along with the subsequent counselling and seat allocation processes, are conducted entirely by designated national authorities, including NEET, INI-CET, and INI-SS.

For other specialized courses, such as M Sc Nursing, Allied Health Sciences (AHS), and postdoctoral fellowships (PDF), JIPMER manages the admissions through its own institute-notified entrance examinations and selection procedures. The institute stated that these processes are carried out in strict accordance with all applicable institutional regulations.

The JIPMER administration urged candidates to rely solely on official channels for any updates. The statement noted that any information regarding academic admissions should be obtained exclusively through official JIPMER notifications and authorised communication channels.

Furthermore, the institute reiterated that no individual has the authority or ability to influence, facilitate, or secure admission to any course outside of the officially prescribed admission process. This rule applies to everyone, including current employees, former employees, agents, intermediaries, or relatives of any JIPMER employee.

JIPMER declared that any claims of being able to secure admission through personal influence or unauthorized means are completely false and misleading. According to the institute, such claims are made with the sole intention of defrauding candidates and their families.
