Jason Sanjay's Directorial Debut Sigma Set for October 2 Release

Director Jason Sanjay's debut feature film Sigma has received a new theatrical release date and is now scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 2, 2026. The Sundeep Kishan-starrer was earlier slated to release on July 31, but was postponed following the rescheduling of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's film Jana Nayagan to July 23.
Production house Lyca Productions officially announced the updated release date on social media, describing the project as a heist thriller. The film marks the directorial debut of Sanjay, the son of Vijay, and is produced by Subaskaran.
Sigma is designed as a high-stakes heist thriller that combines elements of action, comedy, and a treasure hunt. Sundeep Kishan plays the lead role alongside an ensemble cast that includes Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Panditt, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Magalakshmi, Sheela Rajkumar, Kamalesh, and Kiran Konda. The film also features Kaleel Raja, Sanjeev S, and Ajaiy Ashok in supporting roles.
The technical crew includes music composer Thaman S and cinematographer Krishnan Vasant. Praveen KL serves as the editor, while stunt choreography has been handled by Venkat and Selva. Filming took place across multiple locations, including Chennai, Salem, Thalakona, and Thailand.
The new release date places Sigma in the middle of a crowded festival window over the Gandhi Jayanti weekend. Several other films are also scheduled or expected around the same period, including director Ram's Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai starring Nivin Pauly and Soori on October 1, 2026, as well as Vijay Sethupathi's Baththa and the Lokesh Kanagaraj-presented Mr Bhaarath.
