Japanese Menswear Brand Lecteur Hosts Bespoke Trunk Show on KNK Road

Japanese menswear brand Lecteur brought its made-to-measure tailoring to Chennai, hosting a trunk show at Maison Madras on KNK Road earlier this week as part of a week-long visit to India.

The event was hosted by Chennai-based fashion entrepreneur and Savile Row-certified bespoke tailor Osman Abdul Razak at Maison Madras, an experience space situated above his atelier on KNK Road. Lecteur's founder Yuki Igarashi and his team conducted one-on-one client consultations before heading to Mumbai for a similar showcase.

Under the arrangement, garments ordered during the consultations in Chennai and Mumbai will be manufactured at Lecteur’s salons in Tokyo and Kobe in Japan and then shipped back to clients in India.

Igarashi established Lecteur nearly a decade ago following his work at Japanese apparel chain Beams. The brand focuses on partnering with traditional Japanese craftsmen and creating comfortable, classic menswear featuring subtle details and quiet silhouettes, including its signature house pattern, LC 10.

Razak noted that the collaboration emerged after experiencing Igarashi’s precise tailoring techniques firsthand, aiming to introduce Japanese tailoring and design philosophy to Indian clients through a personalized, process-driven consultation method.
