Jagadish Palanisamy Appointed Private Secretary to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay

On Monday, June 22, film producer and celebrity manager Jagadish Palanisamy was appointed as the Private Secretary to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Vijay. The appointment, which coincided with Chief Minister Vijay's 52nd birthday, was made public after Palanisamy shared the official Government Order on social media.

Palanisamy, a long-time associate of the actor-turned-politician, expressed his gratitude in a social media post, recalling his journey from a fan to a key administrative aide. He noted that eighteen years ago, he stood in line hoping for a photo with Vijay, and has now transitioned into standing beside him in the state government.

Before taking up this official role in the state administration, Palanisamy built a prominent career in the entertainment industry. He started as a manager for musician GV Prakash Kumar before establishing wider connections in the Tamil film industry. In 2020, he founded the celebrity management and film production company, The Route.

Through his company, Palanisamy co-produced Vijay's blockbuster films, including "Master" in 2021 and "Leo" in 2023, both directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The Route has also produced other films, including "Sesham Mike-il Fathima", "Maharaja", and "Revolver Rita", and represents several high-profile actors and directors in South Indian cinema.

In addition to his film production business, Palanisamy previously managed Vijay's social media platforms and was heavily involved in the election campaigning for Vijay's political party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). He also served as the Head Office Co-Treasurer of the TVK.

Chief Minister Vijay has previously commended Palanisamy's rapid professional rise from his beginnings in Coimbatore, where he started as a college celebrity coordinator before establishing his talent management business. With the new government appointment, Palanisamy now assumes administrative responsibilities within the Chief Minister's office.
