IPCA Begins 59th Annual Convention INDIAPEST 2026 in Chennai

The Indian Pest Control Association commenced its 59th annual convention, INDIAPEST 2026, on Friday in Chennai. The three-day event brings together pest management professionals, government agencies, researchers, policymakers, and global industry experts to discuss the future of the sector.
Organised under the theme “Safety and Dignity,” the convention focuses on strengthening safety standards, professional practices, workforce development, and responsible pest management across the country.
The technical sessions at the convention cover a wide range of industry-specific subjects. These include workforce training, sustainable pest management practices, termite control, food safety, integrated pest management, and public health vector control. Delegates and experts are also discussing digital technologies, responsible pesticide usage, regulatory developments, and emerging industry standards.
Representatives from several key government bodies and public organisations are participating in the proceedings. Participating entities include the Military Engineer Services, Central Public Works Department, Bureau of Indian Standards, Vector Control Research Centre, Indian Railways, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Government e-Marketplace, and various skill development agencies. Their discussions centre around standards, public procurement, public health initiatives, industry training, and quality assurance frameworks.
Alongside the conference sessions, an exhibition is being held to showcase the latest technological advancements in the field. Displayed innovations include integrated pest management solutions, digital monitoring systems, artificial intelligence-assisted inspection technologies, advanced chemical application equipment, specialised safety gear, and other sustainable pest management tools.
According to the IPCA, the convention aims to highlight the critical role that professional pest management plays in safeguarding public health, ensuring food safety, supporting environmental protection, and preserving infrastructure. The association stated that the gathering also seeks to promote greater industry recognition, formal training, and enhanced workplace safety for pest control professionals.
