IndiGo Flight Lands Safely in Chennai After Left Engine Fails

An IndiGo flight from Kolkata made an emergency landing at Chennai airport late on Tuesday night following a left engine failure. All 224 passengers and crew members on board the aircraft landed safely.
IndiGo Flight 6E-723 was operating on the Kolkata-Chennai sector when a full emergency response was triggered at 11:29 pm. The technical failure occurred just one minute before the flight's scheduled arrival time of 11:30 pm.
In response to the mid-air situation, Chennai airport authorities activated necessary emergency arrangements to facilitate the aircraft’s arrival. Ground teams and emergency measures were prepared to support the landing plane.
The flight subsequently touched down at 11:37 pm with all 224 people on board safe. Following the successful landing, the full emergency declaration was formally withdrawn at 11:47 pm.
According to airport sources, normal operations at Chennai airport resumed shortly after the emergency was called off.
