Indian and Vietnam Coast Guard Chiefs Hold High-Level Maritime Talks in Chennai

The seventh round of the high-level meeting between the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) was held in Chennai on Tuesday, bringing together senior maritime officials to enhance bilateral cooperation.

During the ongoing visit of the Vietnamese delegation to the city, Major General Luong Dinh Hung, Vice-Commandant of the Vietnam Coast Guard, called on Director-General of the Indian Coast Guard Paramesh Sivamani.

The bilateral discussions between the two maritime forces focused on enhancing professional cooperation, strengthening maritime engagement, and deepening operational coordination between the ICG and the VCG.

Following the bilateral engagement, Director-General Paramesh Sivamani also visited Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at Fort St. George on Tuesday.

The meeting at the state secretariat centered on critical coastal matters, with discussions focusing on the safety of lives at sea, coastal security mechanisms, and the welfare of Indian Coast Guard veterans.
