GT Bharathi to Develop Rs 7,000-Crore World Trade Center Project in Chengalpattu

Chennai-based real estate developer GT Bharathi announced on Tuesday that it has received a license from the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) to develop a World Trade Center in Chengalpattu. The project will serve as the centrepiece of an integrated, IT-centric mixed-use township with an estimated development value of about Rs 7,000 crore.
The project is planned across approximately 150 acres and is designed to be executed in phases over roughly a decade. The masterplan encompasses commercial and retail spaces, data centres, residential and luxury residential communities, educational institutions, and hospitality facilities.
Arun Bharathi Arunachalam, managing director of GT Bharathi, stated that the company's vision is to build a self-sustaining live-work-learn destination anchored by the WTC business park. He added that a development of this scale is expected to create over 1,00,000 jobs, connecting local talent to global enterprise and turning Chengalpattu into a key destination.
World Trade Centers are premium office spaces for which developers secure branding licensing from the WTCA. According to a release from the developer, Chengalpattu sits at the heart of Tamil Nadu's fastest-expanding growth belt, offering strong connectivity to Chennai's IT corridor, industrial clusters, and upcoming infrastructure.
WTC Chengalpattu is committed to working closely with other WTCA members in the region, including WTC Chennai, to foster international trade and regional economic development.
Badal Saboo, business lead of India and Asia Pacific of the World Trade Centers Association, said that GT Bharathi's entry into the WTCA network strengthens their presence in one of India's fastest-growing trade corridors.
