Global Firms Announce Major Investments Across Tamil Nadu at Conclave

Several global manufacturing giants announced fresh investment projects in Tamil Nadu at the Vetri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026, marking significant expansion across industrial hubs including Oragadam, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chennai.

Germany-based Daimler India Commercial Vehicles committed Rs. 4,000 crore to expand its 400-acre facility at Oragadam. The planned investment will cover commercial vehicle design, research and development, and manufacturing operations at the site.

French glass manufacturer Saint-Gobain committed Rs. 2,000 crore to set up a new greenfield plant at Krishnagiri alongside expanding its existing manufacturing operations in Kanchipuram.

Japanese multinational YKK, which produces zippers and fastening products, announced an investment of Rs. 1,651 crore in Tiruvallur. The project is estimated to create 4,316 jobs in the region.

In the industrial infrastructure sector, Singapore-based Ascendas Firstspace plans to develop a Rs. 1,000-crore industrial park in Tiruvallur. The development will represent the company's largest footprint in India.

United States-based Super Micro Computer also announced plans to establish server assembly operations in Chennai, expanding the region's presence in data infrastructure and electronics.

The newly announced projects reflect continued commitments from companies already operating in Tamil Nadu, reinforcing the state's position in automotive manufacturing, engineering, and electronics while expanding into advanced manufacturing.
