Four Arrested and Six Juveniles Detained for Bike Racing in Arumbakkam

Four youths were arrested and six juveniles were sent to an observation home after being caught engaging in reckless bike racing in Arumbakkam on Sunday.

The Anna Nagar police registered a case after noticing several individuals riding their two-wheelers at high speeds and in a rash manner, endangering the safety of other motorists and pedestrians in the locality.

Following the incident, police personnel examined CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the individuals involved in the illegal race. Based on the video evidence, ten persons were identified and apprehended.

Among those apprehended, four adults were formally arrested. The police identified them as Aditya, 23, Senthamilselvan, 20, Rahul, 27, and Ajaykumar. The remaining six individuals were identified as juveniles and were sent to an observation home.

During the crackdown, police officers also seized five high-performance motorcycles used in the racing. The seized two-wheelers include a Yamaha R-15, a Duke 200, a TVS Apache 200, and a Bajaj Dominar 400.

Police officials noted that rash driving and unauthorized bike racing pose severe risks to road users and stated that surveillance through CCTV cameras and monitoring in the area led to the swift action against the violators.
