Four Arrested After History-Sheeter Hacked to Death in Kelambakkam

A 24-year-old history-sheeter residing in Anna Nagar, Kelambakkam, was hacked to death by a five-member gang near the Kelambakkam crematorium on Saturday night. Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing, while law enforcement authorities continue to search for a fifth person involved.
The victim was identified by police as Sahul Hameed, who had recently been released on bail. According to investigators from the Kelambakkam police station, Hameed's body was discovered with deep cut injuries to his head and face around 7 a.m. on Sunday.
A preliminary probe revealed that Hameed had taken Rs 1,000 from his family at around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday before leaving home to consume alcohol. Police stated that the gang ambushed and murdered him over past enmity.
Following the discovery, the police registered a case and sent Hameed's body to the Government Chengalpattu Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
On Sunday, police arrested four suspects identified as V Arun, 31, A Suriya, 32, M Srikanth, 35, and A Abdul Rahman, 25. Another suspect, identified as Ajay, remains on the run. Two special police teams have been formed to trace and apprehend him.
According to the Kelambakkam police, Hameed had a history sheet maintained at the local police station and was named in multiple criminal cases, including a murder case.
