Former Two-Time AIADMK MLA N Murugumaran Joins TVK in Chennai

Former two-time AIADMK legislator N Murugumaran joined the TVK in Chennai on October 4, 2026. Murugumaran previously represented the Kattumannarkoil constituency in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly under the AIADMK banner.

Speaking on his decision to switch political allegiances, Murugumaran stated that the AIADMK was "drifting away from its path."

The defection represents a notable transition of a former two-time lawmaker from the AIADMK to TVK, pointing to internal dissatisfaction with the AIADMK's political trajectory.
