Film Industry And Political Leaders Mourn Demise Of Director K Bhagyaraj

The film fraternity and political circles in Chennai and across Tamil Nadu are mourning the demise of veteran filmmaker and director K. Bhagyaraj. Widely regarded as a master of screenplay and storytelling, his passing has drawn widespread condolences from actors, producers, and leaders who remembered his lasting legacy in Indian cinema.

Actor Venkatesh Daggubati expressed deep sorrow over the filmmaker's death, stating that Bhagyaraj’s work transcended languages and touched millions of lives. The actor recalled his own association with the director in films such as Sundarakanda and Abbaigaru, adding that it was a privilege to work alongside such a remarkable storyteller.

Film producer G. Dhananjheyan shared his grief, stating that he was deeply shocked and devastated by the news. He remembered Bhagyaraj not only as an industry veteran but also as a close friend and a source of strong support within the film community.

Choreographer and actor Raghava Lawrence described Bhagyaraj's contributions to cinema as unforgettable. He noted that the director's extensive body of work has inspired generations of artists and filmmakers. Actor Sibi Sathyaraj also paid tribute, calling Bhagyaraj the "king of screenplay" and describing his demise as a massive loss to the film industry.

Political leaders also expressed their grief. Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the General Secretary of the AIADMK, expressed shock at the filmmaker's passing. Palaniswami described Bhagyaraj as a multifaceted personality and recalled his close personal association with the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. G. Ramachandran.

Tamil Nadu Governor Arlekar condoled the death, stating that Bhagyaraj’s creative brilliance and unique storytelling techniques had earned him a special place in the hearts of audiences. The Governor added that his legacy would continue to inspire future generations of storytellers.

The demise of K. Bhagyaraj marks the end of an era in Indian cinema, leaving behind a rich legacy of storytelling that shaped the industry across multiple languages.
