EPFO Launches Enrolment Campaign for Left-Out Employees

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has implemented the Employees’ Enrolment Campaign 2026, offering employers in Chennai and across the region a one-time opportunity to voluntarily register eligible workers who were previously left out of coverage.
The campaign came into effect on July 1 and will remain in operation until October 31. It covers eligible employees who were not enrolled under EPFO coverage during the period from April 1, 2009, to March 31, 2026.
Employers are required to complete the enrolment process for eligible workers through the official EPFO employer portal.
Under the compliance facilitation terms of the campaign, if the employee’s share of the EPF contribution was not deducted from wages during the relevant period, that portion stands waived. In such cases, the employer is required to remit only the employer’s share of the contribution, alongside applicable interest, administrative charges, and a lump-sum damage.
Detailed instructions and the official notification regarding the campaign have been issued under serial number 67 of the circulars section on the EPFO website.
