Eight-Year-Old Boy Dies of Snakebite During Power Outage in Avadi

An eight-year-old boy died after being bitten by a snake during a power outage in Kovil Pathagai near Avadi on Sunday night. The deceased child has been identified by police as M Nishish, a resident of Brindavan Nagar in the area.

Nishish was a Class 4 student attending a private school in Avadi. According to police reports, he was alone at his residence when he noticed his pet cat making noises outside the house and went outdoors to pick it up.

Around the same time the child stepped outside, the locality experienced a power outage. While in the dark, a snake bit Nishish on his leg.

Following the snakebite, the child screamed for help. His parents and local neighbours heard his cries and immediately rushed to the spot to assist him. They promptly transported him to a nearby private hospital for medical attention.

Upon arrival at the medical facility, doctors examined the child and declared him dead.

Following notification of the incident, the Avadi Tank Factory police registered a case regarding the death and initiated an inquiry into the matter.
