DVAC Registers FIR Against Former Minister KN Nehru in Cash for Jobs Case

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) has registered a First Information Report (FIR) in Chennai against former Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration and Water Supply Minister KN Nehru. The FIR is connected to a cash-for-jobs complaint.
The development was revealed before the Madras High Court on Friday. The disclosure was made during a court session where a first division bench was hearing a contempt case. The bench comprises Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan.
The contempt petition was filed against the DVAC for initially failing to register a case. AIADMK Rajya Sabha member IS Inbadurai filed the petition against DVAC officials, stating that they had failed to comply with the court's previous direction to register the FIR.
With the registration of the FIR, the DVAC has initiated a formal corruption investigation. This development could lead to potential legal proceedings against the former minister.
