DVAC Arrests Ponneri Sub-Registrar and Two Others in ₹15,000 Bribe Case

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) arrested three people, including Ponneri sub-registrar Sankar, on Wednesday on charges of demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 to release a registered property document in Ponneri.
According to DVAC officials, the complainant, Natarajan, had registered two properties at the Ponneri Sub-Registrar office. After being asked to pay a bribe to receive his documents, Natarajan approached the Tiruvallur unit of the DVAC.
The DVAC Tiruvallur unit registered a case based on Natarajan's complaint and laid a trap. During the operation, private document writer Ramesh allegedly collected the ₹15,000 bribe money from Natarajan on the direct instructions of Sankar.
Following the successful trap, DVAC officials arrested Ramesh, Sankar, and another private document writer named Nithya, who was also complicit in the crime. All three accused were subsequently remanded in judicial custody.
