Dr Mukesh Batra Launches Book On Modern Toxicity And Holistic Healing In Chennai

Dr Mukesh Batra, founder and chairman emeritus of Dr Batra’s Healthcare, has launched a new book in Chennai addressing the physical, mental, and environmental toxicity of the modern world. Co-authored with medical doctor and spiritual teacher Swami Shailendra Saraswati, the book is titled 'Toxic: Stories, Science and Remedies for a Cleaner Mind, Body, and Spirit' and is published by Bloomsbury India.

The publication follows Dr Batra’s 50 years of clinical practice, during which he observed health patterns that conventional prescriptions could not fully resolve. Patients presenting with physical symptoms such as skin conditions, migraines, chronic fatigue, and hair loss often carried underlying struggles, including toxic relationships, negative thoughts, and corrosive environments.

Priced at Rs 358, the book is not designed as a self-help manual with quick fixes. Instead, it serves as an accumulation of experiences, warnings, and protective strategies. The authors combine scientific insights, real-life stories, and holistic healing methods to help readers identify invisible modern toxins that affect daily life.

According to Dr Batra, modern toxicity is often driven by engineered conveniences that inadvertently manufacture anxiety, comparison, and constant noise. He points out that daily habits, such as spending 15 minutes scrolling through digital content, expose people to information overload and unhealthy comparisons.

The book outlines how internal toxicity builds through a combination of factors, including chronic stress, draining relationships, suppressed emotions like unvoiced anger and unprocessed grief, poor sleep, processed food, and sedentary lifestyles. Dr Batra warns that these factors act as a slow poison with no sudden symptoms, leading to a gradual loss of vitality.

To counter these modern hazards, the book advocates for deliberate lifestyle corrections rather than drastic retreats. Dr Batra recommends that readers audit what they consume, which includes paying attention to daily conversations, digital content, and social company, and removing at least one small source of toxicity.
