DMK MP P Wilson Accuses CM Joseph Vijay of Secrecy Breach Over Private Aides

On Saturday, DMK Rajya Sabha MP and headquarters chief legal advisor P Wilson accused Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay of breaching his oath of secrecy in Chennai. Wilson urged the Chief Minister to immediately reveal the official designations of two individuals, John Arockiasamy and Vishnu Reddy, who have reportedly been attending cabinet meetings, review sessions, and other high-level government deliberations at the Secretariat.

According to Wilson, both Arockiasamy and Vishnu Reddy (also known as Vijay Reddy) hail from Andhra Pradesh and are close aides and friends of the Chief Minister. Wilson stated that the two men have been allotted office chambers near the Chief Minister's chamber at the Secretariat, despite the public not knowing what official positions, if any, they hold in the government.

Wilson questioned the capacity in which Arockiasamy and Reddy were attending highly confidential meetings where secret documents were circulated. He raised concerns over whether the two men were government servants, demanding that the Chief Minister reveal their official designations to the public.

In his statement, Wilson urged the Chief Minister to explain under what authority these two individuals were attending cabinet meetings and issuing directions to government officials. He noted that because the Chief Minister had sworn an oath of secrecy, involving private individuals in official government meetings raised serious concerns regarding compliance with constitutional norms, the Rules of Business, and the oath of secrecy itself.

The DMK MP's accusations come closely after another recent political uproar. On Friday, Venkata Narayana K, the founder of the Bengaluru-headquartered KVN Productions and the producer of the film 'Jana Nayagan' starring Chief Minister Vijay, was appointed as the Special Representative of the Tamil Nadu government in New Delhi.
