DMK Mouthpiece Murasoli Criticises CM Vijay Over Independence Day Event

DMK's Tamil mouthpiece Murasoli on Tuesday criticised Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay and actress Trisha over an exchange of salutes during the Independence Day celebrations in Chennai.
In an editorial, the daily claimed that the honour of the Chief Minister, who hoisted the national flag at the event, was diminished. It alleged that Vijay and Trisha saluted each other during the function without hesitation or embarrassment.
The publication stated that the interaction could not be accepted even by those who had voted for him. The editorial further alleged that the Chief Minister believes he can justify questionable conduct by performing such actions openly in public view.
During the Independence Day celebrations, Trisha was seated in the front row of the gallery. Others present in the gallery included the Chief Minister's parents.
