CM Vijay Leads Drug Free TN Mass Pledge at Chennai College

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay led a major state-level mass anti-drug pledge and campaign at a city college in Chennai on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister passionately appealed to the public, particularly students, to take concerted steps to eliminate the drug menace from the state.

During the event, Chief Minister Vijay administered a pledge that focused on personal responsibility, family protection, rehabilitation support, and state growth. The pledge commits individuals to avoid drug use, guide others away from addiction, support rehabilitation efforts, and actively assist the government in eliminating illegal substances across Tamil Nadu.

An official stated that a large number of people also undertook an e-pledge through the Drug-Free Tamil Nadu portal as part of the event.

To support these anti-drug measures, the state government had previously established a specialized Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) wing with district-level branches across Tamil Nadu.

Additionally, the government introduced the Drug-Free Tamil Nadu App, enabling students and teachers to anonymously report illicit drug activities in their vicinity. Youth volunteer groups have also been trained to secure school environments and conduct localized peer-to-peer anti-drug campaigns.
