CM Joseph Vijay opens renovated MLA office and launches grievance app in Perambur

On Monday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay inaugurated his newly renovated MLA office at Sharma Nagar First Street in Vyasarpadi and launched a mobile application for public grievances to serve the residents of Perambur, Chennai. The visit marked his first official engagement in the constituency since the Assembly election, where he also initiated a new ration card distribution scheme.

The upgraded MLA facility in Vyasarpadi features a dedicated workspace for the Chief Minister, CCTV surveillance, and a 10-member staff appointed to manage daily public petitions. Additionally, the office houses an integrated common service centre (E-Sevai maiyyam) to help residents expedite civic requests.

The newly launched mobile application allows Perambur residents to directly submit and track complaints. The digital platform covers key civic issues, including electricity, water supply, road maintenance, sanitation, and access to various government welfare schemes.

Chief Minister Vijay, who contested and won from both the Perambur and Tiruchy East constituencies, chose to vacate the Tiruchy East seat to retain his position representing Perambur.

As part of his constituency visit, the Chief Minister was scheduled to inspect a ration shop in MKB Nagar. At this location, he planned to distribute new ration cards, essential commodities, and land ownership pattas to the first 50 eligible local beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister's itinerary also included a visit to a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) electric vehicle charging station near the Vyasarpadi Metro, alongside a review of commuter amenities at a local MTC bus depot.

To coincide with the visit, the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) floated a Rs 48 lakh tender to prepare a comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Perambur constituency. This integrated area development plan is designed to address long-standing urban issues in lower-income neighbourhoods, targeting flooding hotspots, drinking water shortages, parking issues, and the pollution in the Captain Cotton Canal.
