CM Joseph Vijay Congratulates Tamil Film Artists On Winning 10 National Awards

CHENNAI — Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Sunday congratulated artists from the state's film industry for securing 10 honors at the 72nd National Film Awards, calling the achievement a matter of pride for the state.
The awards, which recognized cinematic excellence for films released in 2024, were announced in New Delhi on Saturday night. Following the announcement, the Chief Minister issued an official release from Chennai to celebrate the major wins secured by the Tamil film fraternity across various categories.
Among the major winners highlighted by the Chief Minister was actor-director Dhanush. His directorial venture 'Raayan' won the award for best Tamil film. In addition to this directorial success, Dhanush also earned a special mention for best actor for his performance in 'Captain Miller'.
The film 'Amaran' swept three key categories at the awards. Director Rajkumar Periasamy won the award for best director, while R Kalaivanan secured the award for best editing. G V Prakash Kumar completed the film's trifecta by bagging the award for best background music.
Another film that received significant recognition was 'Maharaja'. Action director Anal Arasu won the award for best stunt choreography, while actress Sachana Namidass secured the best supporting actress honour for her role in the film.
The state's artists also shone in the technical and short film categories. Suren G received a special mention in audiography for the film 'Meiyazhagan'. Meanwhile, T S Hariharasudhan won the award for best sound design for the short film 'Blue'.
In his official message, Chief Minister Vijay extended his warm greetings to all the winners and wished the Tamil film fraternity continued success. The Chief Minister expressed hope that the state's film industry would bring home many more such national accolades in the future.
