Class 9 Student Dies After Falling from Moving Government Bus in Chengalpattu

A 13-year-old Class 9 student died on Wednesday morning after falling from a moving government bus near Vadakadambadi in Chengalpattu district while on his way to school. The deceased has been identified as S Deena, a resident of Kunnapattu village near Mamallapuram.

According to the police, Deena was a student at Poonjeri Government Higher Secondary School located near Mamallapuram. On Wednesday morning, he boarded the government bus at the Karanai bus stop to travel to school.

Police officials stated that the bus was crowded at the time, which allegedly led Deena to travel on the vehicle's footboard. While the bus was negotiating the stretch near Vadakadambadi, the boy lost his balance and fell onto the road.

Following the fall, the rear wheel of the moving bus ran over his leg, leaving him with severe injuries. An ambulance was called to the scene, and Deena was initially rushed to the Poonjeri Government Hospital.

Medical staff at the Poonjeri Government Hospital administered first aid to the critically injured student before referring him to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital for advanced medical treatment. However, upon arrival at the Chengalpattu facility, doctors examined the boy and declared him brought dead.
