Chennai Startup Aheesa Eyes $10 Million Funding for Chip Commercialisation

Chennai-based fabless startup Aheesa Digital Innovations is preparing for the volume production of its broadband chips and ramping up commercialisation efforts after completing technical validation of its prototype.

The startup, founded by a group of senior industry leaders in Chennai, designs and builds system-on-chip semiconductor solutions for telecom, networking, and communications applications. The company recently tested and validated its chip design prototype during its first manufacturing run, a milestone referred to as a tape-out in the semiconductor sector.

To support its commercial rollout, Aheesa plans to raise approximately $10 million in funding. The capital will be directed towards commercial expansion efforts, which encompass performance tuning, scaling pilot orders, and reaching full volume production around the end of the first quarter of 2027.

In addition to scaling its technical capabilities, the company is building business teams to market the chips to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The commercial launch will lead with a broadband chip engineered specifically for home broadband devices.

Sridharan Mani, founder and chief executive officer of Aheesa Digital Innovations, stated that the startup engaged with equipment manufacturers from the beginning of the design phase to validate the chips for custom applications.
