CBSE Launches Class 12 Revaluation Portal in Chennai After Missing Deadline

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) launched its online revaluation and verification portal for Class 12 students in Chennai on Tuesday, June 2. The launch comes after the board missed its initial deadline of June 1 to have the portal up and running.
Class 12 students can now apply for the verification of issues observed in their answer sheet scans, as well as the revaluation of their board exam marks. The board has announced that the portal will remain open for applications until the midnight of June 6.
To log in and access the application system, students are required to input their Aadhaar number. The CBSE stated that this Aadhaar verification step has been introduced specifically for security reasons. For students who do not possess an Aadhaar card, the board is allowing the use of Aadhaar details belonging to a parent, relative, or guardian. In such instances, the applicant must provide the exact Aadhaar name, date of birth, and gender of the person whose Aadhaar number is being used.
The cost for the verification of answer books has been set at Rs 100 per book. This fee covers the resolution of various issues that students might observe in their digital scans, including missing pages, supplementary sheets, maps, graphs, blurred pages, an incorrect answer book, or evaluation against a different question paper set.
For students who wish to challenge the grading of specific answers, the revaluation fee is Rs 25 per question. The board has specified that all fees must be paid exclusively through online payment modes.
Students are restricted to submitting only one application for verification and one application for re-evaluation. However, they can select and submit issues across multiple subjects within that single application. The CBSE cautioned that once a student clicks the "Freeze and Proceed to payment" button, their application details will be locked and cannot be edited further. To assist students with this process, the board has also released a step-by-step tutorial.
