Brigade Hotel Ventures plans three new hotels on Old Mahabalipuram Road and ECR

Bengaluru-headquartered hospitality firm Brigade Hotel Ventures is set to significantly expand its presence on Old Mahabalipuram Road and East Coast Road in Chennai by planning three new hotel properties. This expansion, developed in collaboration with Marriott International and Hyatt Hotels Corporation, will introduce a total of 506 new rooms to the city's hospitality market. The move aims to address a growing demand in Chennai's key IT and luxury corridors, where hotel room demand is expected to outpace supply.
On Old Mahabalipuram Road, the company is preparing to launch the Courtyard by Marriott WTC Chennai. This 45-key hotel will be situated at the World Trade Center and is scheduled to open within the current fiscal year. The property is designed to serve business travellers working in Chennai's bustling IT corridor.
Further down the timeline, Brigade Hotel Ventures plans to strengthen its luxury hospitality presence with the Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR on East Coast Road. This larger property will feature 211 keys and is scheduled for launch in the 2029 fiscal year.
The company's third project is the JW Marriott Chennai OMR, a 250-key hotel planned for Old Mahabalipuram Road. Unlike the other two properties, the timeline for this project has not been finalised. Brigade Hotel Ventures stated that land documentation for this OMR property is currently being finalised, and development approvals will be sought once this process is complete. The hotel is expected to deepen the company's footprint in the fast-growing OMR business corridor.
The expansion comes as industry projections indicate a highly favourable market environment. Chennai, along with Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is expected to witness substantial demand growth through the 2030 fiscal year. Because this demand is projected to outpace the addition of new hotel rooms, the company is positioning its new properties to benefit from these positive demand-supply dynamics.
