Bihar Worker Dies After Falling Under Moving Train At Tambaram Railway Station

An 18-year-old migrant worker died on Monday after falling between the platform and a moving train while attempting to board it at the Tambaram railway station. The deceased was identified as Sahil Kumar, a native of Bihar.
According to a senior official from the Government Railway Police (GRP), Kumar had been staying in Virudhunagar with two of his friends for the past two months. During his time there, he was employed as a worker at a local brick kiln.
Kumar and his friends had traveled from Virudhunagar to the Tambaram railway station, from where they planned to board a train to return to his native place in Bihar.
While at the station, Kumar attempted to board the Nagaon Express while it was in motion. During the attempt, he lost his balance and fell, becoming trapped in the gap between the platform and the moving express train. The accident resulted in severe body injuries.
Passengers at the station immediately rushed Kumar to the Tambaram Government District Headquarters Hospital. However, he was declared dead upon arrival by the medical staff.
The Government Railway Police have registered a case regarding the incident.
