Apollo Hospitals Q1 Profit Rises 34 Percent to Rs 581 Crore
Chennai-headquartered Apollo Hospitals Enterprise reported a 34 percent rise in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 581 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared to Rs 433 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Consolidated revenue for the healthcare company grew 21 percent year-on-year to Rs 7,043 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 5,842 crore in the year-ago period. The growth was driven by solid performance across both primary hospital operations and healthcare delivery segments.
Revenue from healthcare services increased by 22 percent to Rs 3,567 crore during the first quarter, compared to Rs 2,935 crore recorded in the same period last year. Meanwhile, Digital Health & Pharmacy Distribution, operating as HealthCo, saw its revenue rise 20 percent to Rs 2,977 crore from Rs 2,472 crore in Q1 FY26.
Madhu Sasidhar, president and CEO of Apollo Hospitals, stated that the core hospital business recorded double-digit growth across Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III cities during the quarter. Sasidhar noted that growth was supported by a balanced mix of surgical and medical treatments across facilities. Specialties in Cardiology, Oncology, Neurosciences, Gastroenterology, and Orthopedics, collectively referred to as CONGO, registered mid-20 percent growth rates.
International operations also contributed to revenue, with Bangladesh seeing a significant improvement over the same period last year. Sasidhar noted that ongoing conflict in West Asia diverted patient traffic from Africa toward India. Consequently, Apollo's West Africa revenue grew by 91 percent compared to last year, while East Africa revenue increased by 29 percent. Overall, international patients accounted for approximately 8 percent of the group's total revenue for the quarter.
Looking toward long-term expansion, Group CFO Krishnan Akhileswaran outlined plans to expand the network's bed capacity. Apollo Hospitals intends to add approximately 5,800 beds over the next five years as it continues to evaluate strategic positioning across India's six major metro cities.
