Alia Bhatt and Bobby Deol's Alpha Teaser Faces Plagiarism Allegations From Fans

The teaser for the upcoming film 'Alpha', starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has faced public scrutiny and plagiarism allegations from fans following its release on Wednesday. Social media users pointed out strong similarities between a key sequence in the teaser and scenes from international action films, specifically the French classic 'La Femme Nikita' and 'American Sniper'.
'Alpha', which is produced as YRF's first female-led spy thriller, became a major talking point online shortly after the promotional footage was unveiled. While many viewers praised the action-packed glimpse into the movie, others quickly accused the creators of borrowing major scenes and thematic ideas from existing Hollywood and French productions.
The primary source of controversy involves a pivotal sequence featuring Bobby Deol's character and Alia Bhatt's character, who plays a spy-in-training. In the teaser, Deol's character takes his daughter—whom he has trained to be a spy since her childhood—to an upscale restaurant to mark her 18th birthday.
Rather than celebrating the milestone, the father assigns her her very first mission, which requires her to carry out a kill. Although initially disappointed because she expected a normal birthday celebration, Bhatt's character ultimately accepts the dangerous task and completes the mission.
Film fans online immediately drew direct parallels between this sequence and a famous scene in the Luc Besson-directed French action thriller 'La Femme Nikita'. In that film, the character Bob, played by Tcheky Karyo, takes the trained assassin Nikita, played by Anne Parillaud, to a fancy restaurant.
Similar to the scene depicted in the 'Alpha' teaser, what Nikita believes to be a special outing quickly transforms into a deadly assignment. Bob hands her a gun and orders her to kill three people inside the establishment.
In addition to 'La Femme Nikita', fans also raised comparisons to the Hollywood film 'American Sniper' regarding the teaser's presentation and concept. The creators of 'Alpha' have not yet officially addressed the mounting plagiarism accusations or the public comparisons being made online.
