AINRC Announces Plans to Expand into Tamil Nadu at Chennai Gathering

Leaders of the Puducherry-based All India N.R. Congress (AINRC) gathered in Chennai on Sunday to celebrate the birthday of party founder and Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, where they announced plans to expand the party's footprint into Tamil Nadu.

During the event, senior party leaders highlighted growing support from local residents and youth in the state. Former Minister and senior AINRC leader K. Lakshminarayanan stated that many people in Tamil Nadu, especially youngsters impressed by Rangasamy's leadership, had expressed a desire to contest elections on behalf of the party. He confirmed that the AINRC plans to contest in the next elections in Tamil Nadu.

Puducherry Minister P. Rajavelu also addressed the gathering, remarking on the level of support Rangasamy has received within Tamil Nadu.

In addition to celebrating Rangasamy's August 4 birthday, the party marked the birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Kamaraj in advance. Recalling their political beginnings, former MLA and Member of the Pondy Backward Classes Commission M. Ilango shared that he and Rangasamy met Kamaraj together as a group during the 1974 elections, after which both became first-time MLAs at the same time.

Several other party leaders participated in the Chennai event, including V. P. Sivakolundhu, N. S. Jayapal, and Khaliyan Kandaswamy.
