AIADMK Leader K B S Raja Resigns From Party With Supporters In Chennai

AIADMK leader K B S Raja, the cousin of party chief Edappadi K Palaniswami, resigned from the party along with his supporters in Chennai on Monday. Raja, who held the post of deputy general secretary of the party's MGR Manram, announced his decision to quit after three decades of service to the organization.

The veteran leader's resignation comes as a significant development within the party ranks. Raja expressed his dissatisfaction, citing that despite his 30 years of dedicated work for the AIADMK, he was denied the opportunity to contest in the Assembly elections. According to Raja, he was denied the party ticket on two separate occasions.

Raja's departure from the AIADMK is accompanied by the resignation of his supporters, who have also left the party alongside him. The collective exit of Raja and his followers marks the end of his long-standing association with the political party, where he served as a key office-bearer in the MGR Manram wing.

As the cousin of AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami, Raja's decision to step down highlights internal grievances regarding candidate selection for Assembly elections. He emphasized his 30-year tenure of dedicated service to the party while detailing his reasons for leaving the AIADMK on Monday.
