On Saturday, Public Works Department Minister Aadhav Arjuna claimed that 90 percent of AIADMK cadres are ready to defect and join the TVK party. Speaking at a political event at the TVK headquarters in Panaiyur near Chennai, Aadhav stated that the potential shift is a reaction to AIADMK's attempts to collaborate with the DMK to form a government.

The event in Panaiyur saw thousands of cadres and functionaries from various political parties officially join TVK. The induction took place in the presence of TVK general secretary N Anand, Aadhav, and senior ministers, including K A Sengottaiyan.

Several prominent figures officially joined TVK during the meeting. Among them were former AIADMK minister Gomathi Srinivasan, movie director and former AIADMK functionary R V Udhayakumar, and actor Mansoor Ali Khan. Additionally, TVK MLA from Cumbum, P L A Jagannath Mishra, dissolved his party, Namathu Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, and merged it with TVK.

Addressing the gathered crowd, Aadhav expressed confidence that the influx of AIADMK cadres would enable TVK to win almost all seats in the upcoming local body elections. He compared TVK to the AIADMK during the tenure of the late Chief Minister M G Ramachandran, stating that the two forces are now the same.

Aadhav predicted that TVK would set a record by winning 99 percent of local body seats, establishing itself as the largest force in Tamil Nadu. He also assured members that the party would distribute leadership posts based entirely on individual performance rather than political transactions.

TVK general secretary N Anand also spoke at the event, noting that many of the new inductees, including former MLAs, did not demand positions and simply wished to work under the leadership of C Joseph Vijay.
