Aadhav Arjuna Accuses DMK of Attempting to Split VCK

Speaking to reporters in Chennai on Thursday after paying respect to former Prime Minister V P Singh on his 96th birth anniversary, PWD Minister Aadhav Arjuna accused the DMK of planning to split the VCK party. Arjuna claimed the political maneuvering was orchestrated after the VCK supported the TVK government.

During his address, Arjuna criticized Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for admitting former VCK MLA Panaiyur Babu into the DMK. He further alleged that the DMK had tried to recruit another former VCK MLA, Aloor Shanavas. According to Arjuna, these actions were intended to send a warning to the VCK.

Arjuna stated that the DMK was sending a message that it would split the VCK as a consequence for leaving the DMK alliance to support the TVK government. He added that Stalin acts as though he does not speak ill of anyone, while secretly instigating party functionaries, such as A Raja, to speak ill about alliance parties. Arjuna remarked that the DMK has participated in this style of politics for more than 60 years.

The PWD Minister also responded to comments made by opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, who had accused Vijay of converting the assembly into a shooting spot. Arjuna dismissed the criticism, stating that Udhayanidhi himself entered the DMK solely through movies and not by participating in historic anti-Hindi protests.

Arjuna went on to level nepotism and corruption charges against the DMK leadership. He accused Udhayanidhi Stalin and his brother-in-law, V Sabarisan, of dividing government departments between themselves. Arjuna claimed that while corruption was once deeply rooted in the DMK, it has now been eradicated due to the digitalization of all tenders.

As an example of past practices, Arjuna noted that similar digitalization had cleaned up the school education department, where he alleged a bribe of Rs 25 lakh was previously demanded for certificate renewals.
