Around 960 students from 76 schools across the region took part in the 15th ABC (All a’Bout Cancer) Exhibition 2026 held at Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School on Saturday. The inter-school awareness initiative was organised by CAN-STOP (Cancer Support Therapy to Overcome Pain), the outreach programme of Sundaram Medical Foundation, in association with Rotary International District 3234.

The annual exhibition was designed to offer students a common platform to gain knowledge about cancer prevention, early awareness, and healthy lifestyle habits. Participating students spread awareness on various aspects of the disease through a wide range of activities and competitions, including information stalls, painting, skits, quizzes, oratorical contests, and photography.

The event was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the importance of introducing health and cancer awareness at an early age. He stated that educating young minds remains one of the most effective methods to build a healthier society, according to a press release.

Competitions held as part of the exhibition saw active participation across both government and private school categories. In the private schools section, Spartan Exclusive School clinched the Overall Championship. In the government schools category, Government High School, Kumily secured the Overall Championship title. Both winning schools received a cash prize of ₹25,000 each in recognition of their performance.
