33 Coimbatore Students Secure Spot College Admissions at Grievance Redressal Camp

A total of 33 students who completed their Class XII studies secured spot college admissions during a special higher education admissions grievance redressal camp held at the Coimbatore district collectorate on Friday. The event was conducted at the collectorate's grievance day meeting hall to assist students in continuing their academic journeys.

The camp was held under the chairmanship of Coimbatore District Collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar. During the session, the district collector distributed scholarship cheques worth a total of Rs 2,70,800 to 10 selected students. Officials reported that the collector also personally received petitions from attending students and their parents who were seeking official assistance regarding education loans, scholarships, and the clearance of necessary certificates.

Several high-ranking education department officials participated in the camp to offer their expertise. Among those present were Chief Educational Officer Krishnapriya, Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education Dr N Shenbagalakshmi, and School Education Department Higher Education Coordinator Subash. Representatives from various banks were also in attendance to provide direct guidance on financial aid.

Addressing the gathered participants, District Collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar explained that the primary objective of the camp was to clarify the doubts of both students and parents regarding the higher education admission process. He emphasized the importance of guidance, stating that students should actively pursue college education or enroll in skill-based courses after completing Class XII rather than discontinuing their studies. He further noted that the camp was designed to help families understand the step-by-step procedures required to successfully obtain education loans.

For those who still require guidance, the collector announced that a dedicated higher education control centre has been set up at the district collectorate. Students and parents who need further higher education-related support can contact the centre directly at the telephone numbers 9487047568, 9788858529, and 8754898863.
