23-Year-Old Man Arrested in Anna Sathya Nagar for Assaulting Woman

A 23-year-old man was arrested by Chennai police for allegedly verbally abusing and physically assaulting a 39-year-old woman following an altercation in Anna Sathya Nagar on August 20.

The accused has been identified as Sathishkumar, a resident of 'B' Block in Anna Sathya Nagar. According to the police, Sathishkumar already has a prior criminal case registered against him at the B-3 Fort police station.

Investigators stated that the incident took place at night while the woman was standing outside her residence. The complainant, who lives in Anna Sathya Nagar with her husband and children and works at a private school, was approached by Sathishkumar, who is from the same locality and began using abusive language.

When the woman questioned his behaviour, Sathishkumar verbally abused her again and assaulted her with his hands before leaving the area.

Following a complaint lodged by the woman, police registered a case and arrested Sathishkumar. After interrogation, he was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
