2,973 Job Seekers Secure Private Sector Roles at Ashok Nagar Hiring Camp

A total of 2,973 candidates secured private sector jobs at a large-scale recruitment drive held at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Ashok Nagar on Saturday. The camp was organised by the Chennai District Employment and Career Guidance Centre functioning under the Department of Employment and Training.
The recruitment drive witnessed significant participation from across the region, with 9,671 job seekers registering and attending interviews. Out of the 2,973 candidates who received job offers, 1,145 were women and 25 were persons with disabilities.
In addition to the immediate selections, another 316 candidates cleared the first round of interviews and were shortlisted for a second round of evaluations. This brought the total number of primary beneficiaries from the event to 3,289 individuals.
A diverse group of 283 private sector employers participated in the hiring camp to conduct interviews and assess potential hires. Notable participating recruiters included Ashok Leyland, MRF, Bandhan Bank, Bharti Airtel, TAFE, MIOT International Hospital, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Royal Enfield, Wheels India, and Ramraj Cotton. Ten skill training institutions also took part in the event to offer guidance and vocational opportunities.
Beyond direct employment selections, 57 candidates enrolled for specialised skill development training, while 97 registered for overseas employment opportunities. Another 21 candidates underwent psychometric assessment tests during the camp.
Minister for Rural Development and Water Resources N Anand and Minister for Labour Welfare and Skill Development J Mohamed Farvas attended the recruitment camp. Both ministers addressed the gathering and handed over appointment orders directly to the selected candidates. Senior officials representing the labour welfare, skill development, and employment and training departments were also present throughout the event.
