18-Year-Old Engineering Student Killed by Express Train in Chromepet

An 18-year-old college student was run over and killed on the spot by an express train while attempting to cross the railway track near the Vaishnav College railway gate in Chromepet on Monday.

The victim was identified as Rajashree, a first-year B.Tech student studying at a private engineering college in Kattankulathur. She lived in an apartment in Radha Nagar, Chromepet, alongside her father, Seenivasan.

Rajashree routinely commuted to her college using the suburban train service every day. The fatal accident occurred on Monday while she was heading to the railway station.

While attempting to cross the railway track near the Vaishnav College gate, an express train approaching from Tambaram struck her. She died at the scene from the impact.
